Strongly Correlated Electron systems in high magnetic Fields

Les Houches – France May 20th – 25th 2012

The goal of this international workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theorists interested in the use of high magnetic fields to study strongly correlated electron systems. Among the topics to be covered :

* High temperature and other unconventional superconductors
* Quantum Hall systems
* Low dimensional and frustrated magnetic systems
* Graphene and graphite
* Topological insulators
* Oxide interfaces
* System at the extreme quantum limit
* Heavy fermions

We plan to organize few plenary talks summarizing key topics in experiment and theory, about 30 regular talks (invited and contributed), poster sessions and a panel discussion on the future of high magnetic fields for studying strongly correlated electron systems.

This meeting is part of the thematic network ’High field physics of strongly correlated electron systems’ of the Euromagnet II project, a coordinated approach to access, experimental development and scientific exploitation of all European large infrastructures for high magnetic fields.

The workshop is limited to 70 participants so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
